Hi, I’m Meg—a content designer based in the bayou state.

I create engaging content that empowers users with information they need & a clear path to accomplish their goals.

process

How I approach content design

01 Define goals

I start with outcomes, not content. I ask myself and the team:

  • What business objective are we supporting?
  • What user problem are we solving?
  • How will we measure success?
02 Research & discovery

I want to better understand the audience, pain points, & content gaps before creating anything.

  • Review support tickets or FAQs
  • Talk with stakeholders
  • Interview or survey users
  • Review analytics data
03 Strategy & planning

Then, I decide what content is needed—and what isn’t.

  • Choose format (email, guide, FAQ page, video, etc.)
  • Map user journey or flow
  • Create a content brief, storyboard, or wireframe
04 Draft content

I draft content with user clarity & accessibility in mind by incorporating:

  • Plain language
  • Logical structure
  • Scannable formatting
  • Clear calls to action
05 Test & validate

I might test before or after launch by:

  • A/B test for subject lines
  • Running or assisting with a usability test for flows or interactions
  • Interviewing or surveying users to ask: “What does this mean to you?”
06 Publish or hand-off

I make we’re good to go for the next step by:

  • Launching on appropriate channels or handing organized copy/designs over to publishing or dev team
  • Ensuring accessibility compliance
  • Coordinating with stakeholders
07 Measure & iterate

I review metrics tied to OKRs, with could include things like:

  • conversion rates
  • click-through rates
  • time on page
  • support inquiries

& then, I use this info & learnings from testing to refine as needed.

Note: Specific tasks may vary depending on the team & project scope.
